Inspiration comes in many forms. I'll be the first to admit that I'm often stuck waiting for some divine inspiration when I sit down to write out a few thoughts to you before we send the current issue of PRIME to print. There's no telling when that lightning bolt will strike - but it always does.

Clearing my mind of the rumblings and grumblings of work, I think about the pleasures of the job. What inspires me the most are the people that I meet along the way as we bring this magazine to life.
In this issue, I take inspiration in the folks featured in our 7 over 70 awards. They're people who love their jobs and are still hard at work making a contribution to their careers and community long after traditional retirement age. You might call them “workaholics,” or you might say whatever they do “is in their blood,” but when it comes right down to it, they all have one thing in common – their biggest reward for a day's work is not so much about a paycheck; it's their commitment and love for their jobs that has made them rich beyond their years.

I can also take inspiration from Fit for Life, a story about the benefits of staying active and healthy as we age. George Burns (who lived to be 100) used to say, "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself!" It's true that some individuals are blessed with good genes, and no matter how many unhealthy lifestyle habits they have, they're going to live into old age. But for the rest of us who are concerned with quality of life as we age, exercise is one of the keys. We can all use a little motivation when it comes to exercise – me included. We've rounded up some local fitness experts to give you some tips on how to get started no matter how old you are.

Speaking of inspiration and motivation, nothing gets the juices going more than that first morning cup of coffee. And nobody brews it up better than Leslie and Tom Hutchinson at 4 Seasons Coffee Company. Long before Starbucks opened on every corner in town, 4 Seasons was roasting their own special blends.  Whether you take your coffee black or with cream and sugar, Tom and Leslie were nice enough to spill the beans on how to make the perfect cup.

Not long ago we asked our readers for their suggestion about what they'd like to see in our magazine. We ran a little contest with the prize being a night's stay at the beautiful Cave B Inn Winery near Quincy, Washington. We were amazed – and definitely inspired – by the great responses. We'll be featuring many of the ideas in upcoming issues. Congratulations to our grand prize winner, Connie Kingback, of Spokane Valley - we hope she has a fantastic – and inspiring - trip!
